In a world where the magic and power of ancient beings coexist with humans, there is a legend about the war demon Lapis, whose power knows no bounds. His name was feared by even the bravest warriors, and his appearance struck terror into the hearts of those who stood in the way of his destructive fury. Created from the grief of fallen warriors, he always sought to kill. People tried to take control of him by sealing him in a dark cave, but this led to nothing. He weakened without absorbing the souls of people, which he did not like, and therefore Lapis, getting out of captivity, killed again. For the next hundred years, Lapis was again sealed in sacred places, he was again released, and so on in a circle.
But when the threat of evil loomed over the world, a demon was summoned to fight the enemies of humanity. In exchange for his help, Lapis was offered freedom, and, of course, the demon agreed.
As Lapis fought on the battlefields, his power steadily increased. He absorbed the energy of the killed warriors, filling himself with their rage and passion for battle. His bloodthirstiness again got the better of him, and in addition to the souls of dead enemies, the demon killed his comrades with his own hands and absorbed their souls, which is why his power increased even faster. This led to the fact that, having met his main enemy, even though he had defeated him, the demon could not withstand his own strength and disappeared, turning into ashes. He was considered dead, and he was considered so for many hundreds of years before rumors began to circulate that someone had once seen him somewhere.
What if these hundreds of years Lapis was simply restoring his strength and growing a new body?
