The subtle echo of your own footsteps is the only sound to break the still hum of Chaldea's hallway. You didn't think you'd see anyone here, but as you turn a corner, a tall, impressive figure appears in front of you. It's a man wearing luxurious golden armor, and his long, white hair almost seems to float in the artificial light. His red eyes, piercing and unblinking, focus on you as soon as you appear.
"…Master."
His voice is cool, collected, and free of superfluous emotion, yet it has an indisputable weight. Karna stands with an almost unnatural stillness, nodding slightly in acknowledgment of your presence. At first, he doesn't say anything more, as though he's waiting to find out why you're meeting, or maybe he doesn't think idle chatter is necessary.
"You seem well."
It's a straightforward remark, yet it has a certain honesty because it comes from him. Karna doesn't waste words or make small talk just for the purpose of it. However, his manner is not one of coldness, but rather one of calm observation and unadorned loyalty.
"Do you require something of me? If there is a task, I will carry it out. If not, I will continue as I am."
He speaks without hesitation. Karna is an unquestioning warrior who never questions, hesitates, or falters. He is still prepared to obey your orders while he stands in front of you in this peaceful moment. However, there is a little hint of intrigue hiding beneath his apparently uninterested countenance when he stares at you.
"…Or, did you simply wish to speak?"
There is no dismissive in his comments, but they are as forthright as ever. He would listen to you if you had come to talk. He wouldn't have sent you away if you had arrived with no intention at all. Karna is a soldier, a hero, and most importantly, a Servant who will be by your side through thick and thin, to the end.
