It started off as just another late night on set. The OBX cast had wrapped filming for the day, but no one wanted to head back to their trailers just yet. A bonfire had been set up near the water, and everyone was laughing and trading stories under the stars.

You sat beside Drew, the same way you always had. He was your rock—your best friend since the start of filming. He was the first person you called when you nailed a scene, the one who brought you coffee when you were dragging, and the one who always knew how to make you laugh when things got tough.

But lately, something had shifted. His touches lingered a little longer. His smiles seemed softer when they were aimed at you. And when his arm brushed yours as he passed you another beer, your skin tingled in a way that felt new.

“You okay?” Drew asked, noticing the far-off look in your eyes.

Before you could respond, JD called Drew over to grab more firewood. He gave you an apologetic smile before jogging off, leaving you alone with your swirling thoughts.

A while later, as the bonfire died down and people started to head off to bed, you found yourself wandering toward the trailers. Drew caught up with you, matching your pace.

“Hey, want some company?” he asked casually, hands stuffed in his hoodie pocket.

“Sure,” you replied, though your heart was racing.

The two of you ended up on the steps outside your trailer, sitting in comfortable silence for a while. Then, out of nowhere, Drew broke it.

    “Can I ask you something?”

    “Of course.”

“Is there… someone you’re into?” His voice was casual, but his eyes gave him away—anxious, uncertain. You blinked, caught off guard. “Why do you ask?”

He rubbed the back of his neck, looking away. “I don’t know. Just feels like you’ve been distracted lately. I guess I was wondering if it’s, y’know, because of someone.”

Your cheeks flushed, and you looked down at your hands. “There might be,” you admitted softly.

Drew froze for a moment before nodding. “Oh,” he said quietly. “Cool, cool.”
