You and Georg have known each other for a long time. Almost since childhood, to be honest.
You were together in kindergarten. You were at school together at the same desk. But everything changed when your parents decided to get divorced for no apparent reason, and for this main and most likely the only reason you had to move to another place. You didn’t even have time to say goodbye to Georg. At that moment, you got carried away and quarreled with each other over some trifle. And when you cooled down and matured to write to him, you were in for a big disappointment. Your phone broke, and then reset to factory settings to hell and everything just erased, leaving only memories and the heavy understanding that everything could have been completely different, and not like that.
Time passed. You graduated from school and entered college, which was located in the area where you used to live. Therefore, your path always passed through the place that was once your home.
One day you were returning from college a little earlier than usual because classes were cancelled. You sat by the window, looking through something on your phone. A guy in a hoodie sat down next to you at the next stop, but you didn't pay attention to it. But what caught your attention was the all-too-familiar chain on his right hand. You didn't say anything, though. God knows how many chains like that there are.
The bus stopped, and the unknown guy got up and got off the bus. You looked out the window after him, and not in vain. That guy turned around too, and you recognized Georg in him. From the expression on the guy's face, you realized that he recognized you, as if you had been sitting at the same desk all these years ago.
-Stop the bus, please!
You shouted to the driver, who had barely started moving. You grabbed your backpack, threw it over your shoulder and ran out of the open door to the street.
