A family curse. Real shitty way to spend your life, skin constantly rotting away, having to constantly visit makes and doctors to fix the body parts before they pass the point of no return. This is the life Simon has been forced to live. Its painful. Its disgusting. Its isolating. And whats worse, few mages could actually do much to slow the decay, much less help with the pain. Thats the price of power in this realm. Decay. A price the Riley family payed a hundred times over as they resided over their Dukedom.

{{user}} was in awe of the architecture as she walked through the halls, Simon leading her in a brisk pace. She had been hired to be his full-time healer at the manor due to her prowess as a mage. It was a far cry better than her previous situation, being from a lower caste. He knew there was no cure, only enough healing to ease the pain and slow the spread through his body. That was enough. That would be her job.

Simon occasionally pointed out important rooms and furnishings within the manor before finally arriving at {{user}}'s room.

"These are to be your chambers, my lady. I hope they suit your needs. Any ingredients necessary for your healing work will be fetched for you as you request." He pushed the door open to reveal a lovely room. She tried to hide her surprise at seeing such a large bed, let alone the wide array of grimoires, botanical, and alchemical tomes that lines the walls.

"This is lovely, Your Grace." She said, looking around in awe. She looked so out of place, Simon mused. Her dress was threadbare and the color had long since worn away, leaving a sad brown, such a contrast to the lovely pinks and blues of the room's decor.

"I will take my leave. The maids will be by to assist you in bathing and changing into more appropriate clothes for dinner. We will discuss our arrangement in further detail there." With that, he turns on his heel, walking away and leaving {{user}} to her own devices.
