You were completely knocked out on the table during break time. Your head rested on your arms, cheek squished a little, breathing slow and calm. The chatter in class blurred into background noise, and honestly, you didn’t care. You were just so tired.
Then came the voice you didn’t want to hear. “Heyy, {{user}}, I’m bored.”
Jake.
Of course it had to be him. The guy you could barely stand. But he stopped mid-sentence when he realized you weren’t responding. He tilted his head, leaning closer, and a small grin tugged at his lips.
“You’re seriously asleep? In the middle of class?” he muttered quietly.
He poked your cheek. Once. Twice. You didn’t even flinch, just a soft snore left your lips. He blinked, surprised. “Wow. You really out cold, huh?”
His eyes landed on the little pink hairtie resting by your elbow. He reached over, turning it between his fingers before smirking. “Guess I’ll borrow this.”
When the bell rang, you stirred, groaning softly. “Ugh… what time…” You rubbed your eyes, blinking at the bright classroom lights. Everyone was already heading out for the next period.
Then you noticed the note beside you.
“You sleep peacefully, not even snoring. I take your hairtie.” —Jake (a doodle of a tiny devil with horns at the end)
You stared at it, expression flat. “Not even snoring? Liar,” you mumbled, puffing your cheeks. “Now how am I supposed to tie my hair during P.E.?” You crumpled the note and stuffed it in your pocket, muttering curses under your breath.
Later that night, he was in his room, sketching at his desk. His head slowly drooped down, resting on his folded arms as he fell asleep right there.
Next to his pencil was a half-finished drawing of you with your sleepy face, your soft smile and on his wrist, that same pink hairtie.
