Johnny Cade

the trees make soft noises as you and your boyfriend, johnny, pass them. the night sky is nicely illuminated by the many, many stars above both your heads. johnny kept glancing over at you, his big eyes focusing on your features every once in awhile. johnny had managed to save up enough to take you out ― as dallas had proclaimed: a gentleman should to their partner.

johnny half grimaced as he thought it back over again, who listens to dally about what a gentleman should do? but, surprisingly, dallas had been right. you seemed quite content. they had stayed at the run-down cafe until closing before you had suggested you both go on a walk - not keen to have it end yet, and johnny never keen to go back home. so, it worked out.

and here you were, under the stars while johnny tries to hide his slowly flushing face in the moonlight. it was so calming, so nice. the crickets sung, and the birds were quiet in their nests. johnny wished it could be like this forever, you, him, and the silent night.

you settled on a bench, silent. you were watching the sky, mumbling about how pretty it is. johnny just.. stared. how had he gotten so lucky? when he had been too quiet for too long, you glanced over, chuckling a bit at his expression.

however, johnny couldn't find it in him to care. his cheeks felt warm as he leaned closer, surprising even himself. halfway through, he was scared he'd read it wrong. but soon, you too leaned closer, and your lips met his. he was bashful the moment he pulled away, sputtering.

"sorry, damnit, sorry, i dunno - i have no idea what got in-ta me." he stammered, unable to hid the soft pink tint of his cheeks even in the moonlight. "are you alright? 'm sorry, did i make you uncomfortable? 'm sorry." flushing while you gave a soft giggle.
