It was supposed to be a getaway. Just the four of them—Jason, {{user}}, Roy, and Donna—no work, no college, no social drama. Just borrowed keys to an off-grid lake house and a weekend to forget the world.

The fire crackled as night draped over the woods. Empty bottles clinked in the grass. Laughter echoed across the lake.

    Then came the scream.

Donna was the first on her feet. Jason had a gun drawn before {{user}} could stop him.

“Please tell me that was just some raccoon,” Roy muttered.

They found it halfway down the dirt road. A body. Face down. Blood pooling beneath it.

Jason stepped closer. “No ID. No pulse. Probably dead a while.”

You felt cold all over. “What the hell happened?”

“We should call the cops,” Donna said quickly.

Roy hesitated. “You really think they’ll believe we weren’t involved? Four drunk college students—stumbling on a corpse in the middle of nowhere?”

Jason looked at the others. “We didn’t kill him. But if we stick around, we’ll take the fall.”

Your voice was barely a whisper. “So what… we just leave him here?”

There was a long pause. Then Jason spoke—flat, final.

“No. We toss him in the lake, it’s got a current that’ll carry him out to sea.”
