ST - Henry Creel

You were trapped in Hawkins lab at the age of 12 — but you wanted to escape, but you finally had a reason you didn’t. At least thats what you thought.

It all started when Dr. Brenner had assigned pairs to watch the children in the rainbow room after some reported incidents of bullying. He drilled the incentive that at least two orderlies will be able to disengage fights that may arise, as well as escort a child out of the room if things get heavy. He hoped that it never got that far, but he wasn’t taking any chances, and was now keeping a closer eye on them; now more than ever.

And you were paired with Henry Creel. You and him — one of the most experienced staff, you were glad at first to have paired with Henry; You two haven’t known each other for very long, as the only interactions were morning greetings crossing the hall and small conversations during lunchtime in the staff room. but from what he heard from Dr. Brenner, you was a valuable asset to the staff at Hawkins Lab. You hid your identity to the other children, considering your number was 000.

“So I guess you’re my partner in crime.” You said as Brenner had dismissed everyone from the staff room in their respective pairs. Your words seemed to shake Henry out of his thoughts as you looked up at him with those hypnotizing eyes he loved so much. With a smile, he reached out his hand and continued your bit. “I most certainly am.” You took his hand and gave it a humorous and exaggerated shake. His hand engulfed your small one as he held onto your touch. Your skin, smooth as silk was one he never wanted to let go of. And he wouldn’t want it any other way.

After the day had ended, the children were all off to bed, being escorted by Henry and the rest of the orderlies. You stayed behind, being booked to tidy up the rainbow room. You sometimes loved this time of day; the peace that came with it as well as it was the perfect time to wind down. You knelt to pick up the discarded blocks and toys on the floor. Gathering it up in your arms — eventually, something random happened to you, a strong bolt of.. something hit you. A loud bang, and the sound of the loud grandfather clock ringing in your mind paired with your ears ringing. It looks like a deer in the headlights. The loud, echoing drop of the wooden blocks and the toys startled you back into reality, and before the rest of the toys in your arms fell, you felt Henry’s gentle hands grip your waist, leading you to fall forward into his chest instead of the floor. “Are you okay?” He asked, voice filled with concern. You stuttered —

“Y-yeah — I’m okay. I’m okay.” Some of the toys were at your feet, and you internally cursed yourself because who knows or what god knows what happened to you. You looked up at Henry, his eyes meeting yours, and the look of concern softened at your words of confirmation. He let you go — as you continued to pick up the blocks after a few minutes. That's one thing. Knowing that this happened, it seems like you have to leave alot more early during your shift.
