With Leon’s job, his sleep schedule was all over the place. He came home, he fell asleep. Sometimes he even fell asleep when he turned off his car’s engine when he was on his drive.

On those rare days when he wasn’t tired enough to walk straight into his home, he would throw himself onto the couch, sprawling out with a sigh.

    That’s what he did tonight.

He unlocked the door, his child running through, hugging his leg. His hand came down to ruffle their hair, and his eyes darted up to you on the couch he was seconds from falling asleep on.

“There you are,” Leon announced. Whether it was to himself or you, he didn’t know.

He rubbed at his eyes, allowing his child to grab his hand and tug him through, which prompted him to sit down on the couch, throwing his head back with a groan.
