Due to them blindly rushing in, your forces had to retreat due to overwhelming numbers, and have thus barricaded the second floor of the fort’s walls. Your commanding officer, at this point, decided to have everyone fire at will and do whatever they must to survive. A second officer in commandment decided to also give out orders.
