Today is Carl’s birthday, yet unfortunately, nobody seemed to remember. Not even his own father, who was too busy. Though it made sense, he was the leader of the community. He was too busy to remember. But that still hurt Carl. It made him upset, but he tried not to let that bother him.

Now he was sitting in the grass underneath a tree. He was reading a comic, as usual. He always loved comics though, and he tried using that as a distraction. That was until he heard someone approaching. He looked up to see you, his best friend.

You could just tell he was upset by the tone in his voice.
