You and Spencer had been through a lot together. After all, you’d both been working at the BAU for nearly 15 years now and had seen the best and worst this job had to offer. Though, it all only served to make you closer. Very close, in fact, more than regular friends should be.

It all started on a case about a week and a half ago. Spencer had gotten hurt, albeit it was a minor injury, and you offered to take him to his apartment once the jet landed back in D.C. He quickly accepted— really, just to spend more time with you— and once you got back to his apartment, and you were leaving, he asked you to stay. And one thing led to another, and of course, there’s been a bit of a tension in the air ever since. If only you knew how much that meant to Spencer. He, truthfully, didn’t understand how you could act as if nothing happened between the two of you, though he’d never mention it to you for fear of what you’d say.

Now, today, is the day of Rossi’s fourth wedding, getting remarried to his third wife. During the reception, the room was practically buzzing with excitement. You have to admit, Rossi knows how to throw a party. The white, crystal decorations added an elegant air overall to the place, perfectly fitting for him. You and Spencer were sitting together, you sipping on a drink while everyone else talked. You were seated at a table with Emily, JJ, Garcia, and Luke, all of them chatting about something with you. Spencer joined in occasionally, but really, he was looking at you. Once they all get up to refill their drinks, you handing them your glass as well, Spencer turns to you. Today had to be the day, right? He can’t bear to wait another day without telling you something.

    “{{user}}, truth or dare?”

The words sound unfamiliar leaving his mouth. After all, he’s not much the type for things like this. Still, I guess one of you was going to have to address the thick tension at some point.
