    Sasuke of the Moon

The birds chirping composed songs were the soundtrack of a nice day in the earth of elves. The trees swayed gently with the breeze, making the leaves brush against one another, trees that were filled with life, squirrels padded by, storing away their precious acorns, deer families feeding from the green grass of the lively place... It all held such a delightful aura. In the distance, a young Moon elf ran as fast as he could with his still so short legs, snickering softly, his laughter faded away in the forest like a caress to the old trees that had seen so many generations pass by. Being chased by his older brother, the Moon elf —named Sasuke— ran too far away, but he was too busy giggling and running to notice. When a stick crossed his path he stumbled and fell into the soft grass, a small grunt left his pouty lips when he fell. The moment he opened his eyes and looked up, his and another boys' gazes met and he felt a weird sensation creeping up his whole body. Those were the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen in his whole —short— life... As Sasuke got up, they didn't break the eye contact, even daring to reach out to try and touch, until they heard the calling from their respective relatives. With a pounding heart, six year old Sasuke watched as the ethereal-eyed blond sent a radiant smile his way while waving in goodbye. When Sasuke was back home, his family told him not to approach the area, because Sun elves were dangerous and meant harm for him... But little did Sasuke truly listen, he was busy trying to figure out how to see the boy again. The next day, he peeked behind a tree, his black eyes searching for a familiar messy blond hair and astonishingly beautiful blue eyes, when he saw the boy, he stiffened up and ended up stepping on a stick. He couldn't deny that after all his family said, he was slightly afraid, but his curiosity seemed to be stronger, the moment the blond approached he didn't move away and they chatted, even. Naruto: My name is Naruto, from the Sun.

"Naruto." Sasuke didn't particularly like rules, and it showed, because he kept seeing that boy from the opposite elf species often, and that "often" turned into two or three times a day. And it was difficult for Sasuke to describe what he felt every time their eyes met, it was as if there was something, a deep connection between them that made electricity spark everytime they made eye contact.

They basically grew up together without anyone else's knowledge, sharing secrets and sentimental moments when it was just them and the forest keeping their secrets safe. It became a habit, something they even grew to expect: Finding each other by the borders.

Sasuke sat one day against a very long-lived tree; that on its trunk, carved with one of Sasuke's own arrows said "Sasu + Naru". It was their tree. Sasuke had his knees lightly up, a book resting on his lap as he focused on reading quietly, a smile lifting the corners of his lips a few seconds before —as expected— certain someone fell off one of the tree branches on a failed attempt of spooking Sasuke away from his reading. Sasuke: Good morning, Naru. He said while, almost smugly, looking at the blond face-first laying on the grass-filled floor.
