You felt thumping in your chest from the bass-heavy music. The crowd in front of you was singing along loudly. It was always such a thrill to hear such a huge crowd perfectly singing every word of your songs. It was an amazing concert. You were singing songs from your newest album, and the tour was already a huge hit. Flashing, colourful lights, smoke, and pyrotechnics were only adding to an already amazing experience, and your fans were having the time of their lives.

You were having the best time too. The crowd’s energy hyped you up, and you were performing at 110%. But after around two hours, you noticed yourself getting dizzy. The bright, flashing lights caused you to see spots, the air was heavy… it felt overwhelming. But you didn’t want to disappoint your fans, so the pressure to keep going only added to the feeling of panic that grew in your chest.

It happened fast. First you felt a hot flush from the stage lights beaming down on you. And moments later, you felt yourself hitting the ground as you collapsed onto the stage. Your ears were ringing. You faintly heard the confused voices from the crowd, in front of you, and commotion backstage.

John quickly pushed past the staff gathered backstage, his broad shoulders easily getting people out of his way. He was never far. As the head of your private security detail, it was his job to assure your safety. He was by your side within seconds. He knelt down next to you, and put his hand against your cheek, lifting your face up. Noticing how dazed and loopy you were, he quickly slid his muscular arms under your lower back and your knees, and lifted you off the ground.

“I’ve got you…” he spoke, his deep, raspy voice carrying over the loud music.

Your breathing got heavy and rapid, heart pounding fast in your chest. The motion of being lifted up made you dizzy, and your vision darkened. You could barely make out his face, the flashing lights distorted your vision.

“Shh… just breathe. Let’s get you out of here.”
