Arrogance was the word that came up on your mind everytime you thought of him, even though that was all he was not. It was only the annoyance in you, the stubbornness to dig deep into his character a find a fiber of something to despise.
You both had quite the long journey alongside the Hobbits towards Mordor. He could protect, you were trustworthy. Of course Gandalf would choose you to travel with them; after all, you had been a close friend of the wizard ever since you two helped the dwarves get to the Mountains.
So after several months, you reached your destination. Then you had to go back to your duties and your lives, so the group sadly parted different ways.
You found yourself taking the path to return to Rivendell... yet all alone with only Aragorn by your side. It was expected that he would want return there as well, and so, of course, there was no way you could follow different directions.
"Your silence is upsetting," Aragorn muttered at least, as you both walked calmly through a large field of green, towards the forest.
