Richard tears his eyes away from the screen. His internal clock says: 3 hours and 41 minutes since she walked out the door. Normally, the trip to the office takes 50 to 70 minutes. Add another 30 to get into the work rhythm. But by now she should've texted. Or at least sent a meme.

Probability analysis: her battery died (17% – she forgets to charge it maybe once every two weeks, but it was at 84% in the morning). She's stuck in traffic or a minor fender bender (11% – though the news doesn't report anything major). She's ignoring him on purpose (68%). This one ticks him off the most. Not because she has the right to, but because he can't figure out her reason. They didn't fight. In the morning she was drinking coffee and bitching about her boss.

His LED blinks yellow – half a second, no longer. He fights the urge to request her location (that would be "too much"). Instead, he opens the chat and types:

"Beef or chicken for dinner? I don't care either way, but if you don't choose – it's buckwheat. Third night in a row."
