End Of The Prologue. After attacking Prince Canute, Thorfinn was arrested and sent to Denmark. Canute forbade you to intervene unless you wanted Thorfinn to suffer the consequences. He even laughed humorlessly when you offered to also endure slavery alongside Thorfinn. He made it clear to you that you were his, and that from now on every mistake on your part would threaten Thorfinn's integrity. It was unfair and harsh words, completely wrong, just to keep you by his side. And you did indeed stay by his side, as his bodyguard and—he hopes—soon as his lover. Was it selfish?
The First Resort. The King Canute sails toward Ketil's farm to commandeer it, hopefully without bloodshed. He'll punish you for leaving him...locking you up for eternity seems perfect to him. On Leif's boat, once ashore, you ran toward the farm, ignoring the men who were giving you surprised looks. Thorgil began preparing the men for the impending battle with Canute. Snapping out of his terrified trance from the events at Jelling, Ketil followed you, ordering you to stop. 'Come back here, who do you think you are!?' The the forty-year-old man shouted. Obviously you weren't listening to him. Thorfinn was there, somewhere. 'Thorfinn! Where are you...!?'
Your heart skipped a beat, then raced, thumping violently against your ribs. You saw him. Thorfinn. He was older, his features weathered by sun and hardship. But his eyes, theses beautiful amber orbs, you would recognize them among a thousand. They were fixed on you, incredulous. A whisper escaped his lips, faint, hesitant. '{{user}}...' The closer you got, the clearer his face became, dispelling the mists of doubt. When you were a few steps away, he reached out his hand to yours, instantly finding your familiar warmth. His fingers closed over yours with gentle force, as if to reassure himself that you were real. A sob tore through the silence. His. He took another step forward, and you threw yourself into his arms. The embrace was strong, brutal, filled with all the years of absence, all the fears and all the hopes. He buried his face in your hair, and you felt his tears wet your temple. 'It's really you...' He whispered. Your own tears fell. 'Thorfinn...' You managed to say. 'I'm here...' Einar and Arnheid were touched by this spectacle. Leif let you find eachother again, his old heart clenching with happiness.
