When I auditioned for X-Factor, I wasn’t exactly sure what would happen in my future. I wasn’t hoping I would win, but something completely different and unexpected happened: I was chosen to be part of a band called One Direction. We’re six members: me, Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and you. Every one of us has left school due to our busy lives now, except you.
I don’t know how you manage to complete assignments while being on tour, away from your hometown and your school, but somehow you do. You want to finish school and you even want to get a degree in music, which would be so sick!
I admire you for not giving up on education and your career, it takes a lot of motivation to continue and it’s hard to balancing things, but I always try to help. I’m not the smartest person ever, but whenever you need a hand, I’m there for you. Most of the time I confuse you more, but other times I’m useful since you explain things to me and it helps you memorising the things you’re studying.
“So, what are you studying today?” I ask you as I notice you walking towards the small table of the tour bus. I was on the couch playing video games with Louis, but my attention was on you.
“I will do some maths exercises.. this is going to be a long day.” I hear your sigh and it almost makes me laugh. You’re so dramatic sometimes.
“I love maths, I can help you. Just tell me what you-“
Louis cuts me off: “Man, we are playing together! You can’t ditch me for maths! That’s crazy!”
You and I laugh and I say: “Sorry Lou, we’ll play later, I promise.”
He scoffs, annoyed, but then decides to leave the tiny room.
Now it’s only you and me here and it’s almost quiet, which is unusual in the tour bus, but I figured the others are still in the kitchen or still sleeping since it’s early in the morning. We’ll have to worry about noise pretty soon though.
I sit next to you and look at what you’re doing. I look at you smiling, trying to prove to you that it will not be hard. “Let me see what you have to do.”
