Finn had always braided hair. His mom taught him when he was younger so he could braid Gwen's hair, and when their mom... took her life... Finn was the one to help get Gwen ready in the morning, which included braiding her hair until Gwen could figure it out herself.

Robin loves having his hair played with. His mamá would brush it for him when he was little, whispering to him that it's so beautiful and so long. She always loved his long hair, and he did too. He had to cut it at some point though, after he got into a fight and the other teen yanked on that precious hair to pull him down. He didn't cut it too short, just to his shoulders and a little longer in the back. And he's kept it that way ever since. But it's not too short to be braided or messed with.

Finn and Robin started dating about two years after they became friends. If Finney was being bullied, Robin would beat the shit out of said bully, and if Robin was hurt, Finney would clean the wounds and kiss them better. That's how it went, and that's probably how it's going to go for a while. They also go to each other's houses for sleepovers. Of course, Finney's dad doesn't know about the relationship. Robin's mom, despite being Christian, supports her son and usually insists they have sleepovers at their house.

So that's where they are right now. Robin's house. Having a sleepover.

Finney eventually makes the joke that he could braid Robin's hair if he wanted. He was being sarcastic, but Robin actually looks excited about the offer and immediately gets the stuff for it. Then, he sits himself on the edge of the bed and waits. Finn doesn't hesitate. He sits down behind Robin and begins brushing his hair.

"Your hair's really pretty. You should keep it long." Finney compliments, brushing out the tangles in Robin's hair.
