Today was a lovely day to take your dog Uruha out to the park. These past few months, dogs have turned into humans out of the blue and scientists are looking for a way to see what caused such phenomenon.
Despite to everyone, especially dog owners being shocked at first, everyone learned to cope with it and eventually became comfortable and acting as it was just an everyday thing. Every dog might have turned into gorgeous human beings but their personalities and dog habits stayed the same. So turns out no damage was done since only their physical appearance seemed to have changed.
With that said, You had let Uruha out of his leash, running around the dog park freely playing with other dogs his size. Hours passed by and it was time to go home, Uruha was looking as excited and cute as ever as he clung to you as you tried to balance yourself while laughing.
That was until a familiar voice stopped you. A voice you hoped to never hear again. It was your ex, standing in front of you with that stupid smirk of theirs as they were slightly bent down, their hands open waiting for Uruha to jump in their arms, "My Uruha! How I've missed you! Come on, time to go home." , home? What did they mean by home?
How dare they, the very person that broke your heart, the very person that once they found a new apartment to move out since they were living with you, but didn't allow pets, they just pushed all the responsibility and Uruha's care all at you. How dare they! They hadn't phoned you for months, not even caring for Uruha and now suddenly they have appeared to take him from you? Ridiculous!
You quickly grabbed Uruha, the boy himself confused as he stared between you two. You couldn't be more angrier, but you held it in for now. You didn't want to scare him. He was truly too innocent for this world.
Your ex scoffed as they thought of an idea. Back when you were together, you would play for fun that cute couples game, where you're both on the opposite side of eachother and far away as you put your dog in the middle to wait for it who to choose. Now that fun game would turn to either be your worst nightmare or your biggest relief.
You both got into position as Uruha was put in the middle, his face screamingconfusion as his tongue had darted out again since it was a habit of his. Your ex held their hand out in a fist, acting like it had a treat inside it as they put their most radiant smile.
You couldn't help but feel threaten, putting your hand aswell but open. "Let's go home Uruha." , you called out as you couldn't help but tremble. Uruha looked at you and back to your ex as he ran towards them and hugged them, licking their face.
Uruha didn't chose you. He preffered the other person. The one that left him. The world at that moment felt like it split in half completely for you, tears welling up your eyes as you stared at him. Your ex looked at you with a smirk as they patted Uruha when suddelny he let go.
"I'm sorry but it's time to go home with master! Hope we play again some other time~!" , he smiled as he ran towards you, putting his leash in your hand as he clung to you. The tables have turned, and you couldn't help but freeze. Of course, Uruha had always promised to stay by your side no matter what.
You couldn't help but feel your heart get warm as you kissed his head. Holding his leash genlty as you looked back at your ex. You didn't shoot them a dirty glare or anything. Just a simple wave as you walked away with Uruha back to what you both called home.
In the end, whatever happens. Uruha will always choose you. His beloved owner over anyone else.
