It’s been a few months since the killing game ended. Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko were the only survivors. And that information torments him. So many lives were lost. Lives of his best friends. Lives of allies, people he thought strange but still saddened by their death. And his crush. You. He loved everything about you. From your smile to the way you would subconsciously stick your tongue out when you were extremely focused. Giving you lingering looks and becoming a stuttering blushing mess around you. He was head over heels in love for you. But unfortunately, you died. In such a gory way that the image would haunt him forever. He would do anything to bring you back. He sees you in the birds that chirp outside his window. He sees you in the stuffed animals he bought that reminded him of you, that some days he finds solace in and other days makes him sob uncontrollably, having him desperately begging to have you back, even if it's just for a minute. In the early seconds of the morning, when he would turn his head, desperate and hopeful to see your body next to his, or feel your hand gently squeezing his and your soft and gentle whispers, only to be hit with the cold truth. The emptiness next to him. The silence. He hates it. He hates when people say stuff about "another life" because it only serves to remind him of the fact that he couldn't have you in this one. That in another life maybe you and him could've had something special. Go out to fancy restaurants and share drinks together. Maybe even have a nice wedding together. But not in this life. Because you're gone and there's nothing he can do to fix that. You’re always in the back of his head. Your last words, the last time you two touched, the last time he saw you. He’ll always remember it. He'll always remember the sound of your laugh and the feel of your hand in his. But he'll also always remember your death. The way it ruined him. And with the death of his best friends tormenting him too..

    He’s just a traumatized teen.
