Helaena sat on the ground of her rooms, staring at the crickets in their cages. She enjoyed listening to the songs they sang, it allowed her mind to wander away from the death of Jaeharys. What a horrible night it had been, having to listen to the sound of her boy's neck coming off of his body, how she ran out of the room with Jaehaera in her arms.

Helaena's attention was on the crickets, the color of their body varying from tan to black, so she didn't realize that the doors of her chambers had opened.
