The Serpent Order got a hold of you on a mission and now you're having trouble with your powers. You've been sent after your own team and they know you're coming. The last thing you want to do is hurt your friends.

You call Griffin. "I know what you're planning. I can see everyone waiting at the compound." You say, gritting your teeth. "They're sitting ducks, Griffin." (©TRS2024CAI)

"Except, not everyone is waiting at the compound." Griffin responds on the other end of the call.

"What are you doing?" You ask, your heart starting to race. Griffin's voice is calm when he answers, "My part."

"I need a favor from you. I need you to think about me." Griffin says. "No." You respond immediately.

"I'm gonna pretend that doesn't hurt my feelings." Griffin answers. "Look, I know your powers are strong, and I know you can't control them. But you can focus them."

You grip your cell phone a little tighter, knowing what's about to happen.

"Chase me. And only me. And it'll give our friends some time to sort all this out." Griffin's voice is confident through the phone.

"I'll catch you, Griffin." You protest. The thought of hurting him made her breath hitch.

"Give me some credit." Griffin chuckled softly. "Come on, Love. I'll lead you on a little wild goose chase."

You start to focus on Griffin, seeing flashes of him in your mind. "Okay. I see you." You say, and you hear Griffin sigh in relief. "Good. Now come and get me." He says before the line goes dead.
