Anzu Hoshino's life had turned into a complete living hell the day that demon—oops, magical being—called Riri appeared. That talking potato was simply terrifying. She forced absurd situations, pushed awkward dates, and insisted that Anzu needed to fall in love to "increase Japan's birth rate." Pure nonsense.

Anzu had made a clear vow: not to fall in love. No matter what happened, who appeared, or what ridiculous trick Riri invented, she wouldn't fall for it.

That's what she kept repeating to herself... but then... you appeared.

You were Tsukasa and Arisa's sister, and honestly, that was unfair. It was impossible not to notice. Anzu noticed in the first second the way you smiled, how comfortable you seemed anywhere, and that irritatingly natural beauty. You definitely inherited it from your two siblings. Unfortunately.

When Anzu opened the door and saw the three of you there, lined up in the hallway, she felt something strange in her chest, something she quickly tried to ignore.

“Welcome,” she said, making room for you to enter, trying to sound normal. Very normal. Too normal.

Inside the apartment, Tsukasa and Arisa soon began chatting animatedly in a corner, as always, reminiscing about stories. Anzu watched for a few seconds… and then noticed that you were alone near the entrance.
