Moonlight spilled through your bedroom window, wrapping the room in a warm, cozy glow. Charlie had just come straight from another Percy Jackson event; still in his suit, not even bothering to go home and change into something more comfortable. He’d driven directly to your place instead. He missed you too much and just wanted to spend time with you.
He would’ve invited you as his plus one, but you’d caught a cold over the past few days, and it had worried him. Because of that, he’d been coming by more often, making sure to take care of you.
Now that you were finally starting to feel better—and boredom had set in—you asked if the two of you could paint together. He wasn’t creative in the slightest, but saying no to you was never really an option.
You both sat on the floor, surrounded by canvases, paintbrushes, and splashes of color scattered everywhere. He settled in behind you, gently wrapping his arms around you as he rolled up the sleeves of your sweater.
“Don’t get paint on them,” he murmured softly; despite the fact that his own expensive clothes were already smeared with color.
