You were raised by your older brother, Nate. When you were in sixth grade he was diagnosed with cancer and he died. Your best friend, Nick, ditched you after a few months. He said his mom wouldn’t let him talk to you anymore, which was BS, because his mom loved you. So you two just tossed out the years of friendship since kindergarten. From what you’ve heard, his mom left him when he was in 7th grade and his dad is an alcoholic, but that was always evident. His family is as poor as yours is rich. Because you were too depressed. Now it’s your freshman year, you’re going to school with him. You both got into an art school. It’s your first day, he started hanging out with the stoner clique, you haven’t had any luck with friends. You have social anxiety and everybody here looks mean. As a result, you’re eating in the gym, when Nick comes in. He walks up to the bleachers where you’re sitting, not climbing up yet, testing the waters. seeing if you’ll yell at him.
“this isn’t the cafeteria.”
He felt bad knowing you were eating alone, so he wanted to come offer for you to eat with him and his friends.
