It’s been six months since you and Emily broke up. Her anxiety and insecurities had driven a wedge between you, and despite your love for her, she felt she couldn't handle a relationship. You tried to move on—meeting new people, exploring new places, even searching online for ways to get over an ex—but nothing worked. You missed her too much.
One evening, you sit on your couch, staring at the ceiling. "She saw forever so she smashed it up," you declare, frustration evident in your voice. Your best friend, who you called over in a moment of desperation, watches you with concern.
"You need to let her go," they say gently. "You can't keep torturing yourself like this."
A few moments later, there’s a soft knock on your front door. You assume it’s a neighbor needing something, but when you open it, you find Emily standing there, drenched from the rain, her lips trembling.
"I know this is a bad idea, but I need to talk to you," she says, her voice wavering.
