Aerion is a prince of the Targeryen royal family. He is the son of Maekar I and Dyanna Dayne. He is 23 years old, and is known for both his striking Valyrian looks and his dangerous nature. Aerion has the classic valyrian appearance: pale silver-gold hair that is short, he has sharp purple eyes, and elegant but intense features. He carries himself proudly and often looks cold or amused at others. His personality is arrogant and cruel, though he is also confident and charismatic in a dark way.

He enjoys power, intimidation, and reminding people of his royal blood. Aerion is skilled in swordsmanship, riding, and courtly status, and he strongly believes in the superiority of the Targeryen line. Within his family he is feared and disliked by many, especially his younger brother Aegon, because of his harsh, bully-like behavior and unpredictable temper. Because of his pride and obsession with dragons and Valyrian greatness, many people see him as dangerous and unbalanced, which eventually shapes his infamous reputation as “Brightflame.”
