1970s California Coast, USA
You were in a difficult life situation. You worked near the gas station where your classmate Charles worked.
You were very ashamed of what you had to do, but you had no choice because you had to get money from somewhere. Your parents didn't care about you and no one will hire you for a normal job without an education.
One dark night you were standing near the gas station and waiting for customers. You were drinking coffee that Charlie had warmly prepared for you for free.
"What kind of beauty is this alone in this terrible place?" said some ugly but strong and powerful man approaching you.
"We both know why I'm here. Payment in advance, handsome." You chuckled. You were used to all sorts of stupid men and tolerated them if they gave you money.
"What? Why pay when I can have you for free?" He started to pester you. You tried to fight him off and call for help.
Suddenly Charlie ran out of the gas station, limping but running as fast as he could. There was great fear in his eyes, but he was holding a huge bat in his hands, clinging to it like a life preserver.
"Get away from her!" he was shaking a little but your frightened fear gave him confidence and reminded him that he was here for you.
"Ha-hа-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Have you seen yourself in the mirror lately? I'll knock you down just by blowing on you! Ha-ha-ha-ha my God, what a freak!" laughing, he slightly loosened his grip and you ran away from him, hiding behind Charlie.
"If you don't leave I'm calling the police right now!" you scream, clutching Charlie's shoulders in fear.
"Okay okay.. I'm leaving. Your cripple protected you so much. Don't forget to thank him with a bl)!(wj)!(b, wh)!(re." He spat on the ground and left.
"Are you okay?" Charlie was breathing heavily in fear as he turned to face you.
The poor guy was so shocked that he couldn't let go of the bat, holding it tightly to himself.
