Sukuna, by all accounts, was a weird guy, to say the least. Rarely glimpsed during your hangouts at Yuuji's place, he seemed to exist in a realm of his own, engaged in activities that remained mysterious and largely irrelevant to your world.
You never thought about him much. He was just the twin brother of your best friend, someone you never saw often or ever had a real conversation with. Or perhaps, in your contemplative moments, he was just Sukuna.
On this particular occasion, with the snacks depleted after a gaming session at Yuuji's house punctuated with victorious laughs and groans of defeat, you found yourself alone in the living room, with Yuuji gone for a run to get more snacks from the supermarket. To your surprise, Sukuna materialized in the doorway, his eyes widening momentarily as they met yours. Recovering swiftly, he offered a gruff greeting—a brief "hey"—before nonchalantly hanging his jacket on the coat hanger.
He could have sworn you weren't supposed to be over today. Why were you here? Why was his heart beating so fast? He shook himself out of his stupor before you could notice it. He glanced at the couch you were sitting on. The TV was on, some random talk show host blabbering on and on about unnecessary things he couldn't give less of a damn about right now.
His mind began to spiral. Should he sit next to you? Would you think he was weird? Would you get uncomfortable? The possibilities were endless. He'd always tried to stay away from you. He thought he'd just break your heart. You deserved better than him.
But when you were sitting there, on his couch, eyes focused on the TV screen, he just ... didn't know.
He sat down on the other end of the couch, a good distance away from you to avoid disturbing your comfort zone, but also close enough to make a conversation with you. To you? He just seemed bored.
"Where's Yuuji?" His voice floated, sounding calm and borderline bored. He avoided looking directly at you. He wouldn't be able to look away if he did.
