Glorious halls filled with lies and hidden secrets is all the Fatui has ever been and all the people inside it's walls had ever known. Scrolls of ancient texts to recent entries lined the walls of the office of the Director, holding secrets not even the other Harbingers knew off. Your own mind was at fault for the curiosity the opened door brought, for how could one pass up the chance to know what the most intimidating man in Teyvat was plotting of?
Your fingers couldn't help but brush over the fresh file-work as if they had been possessed to reach and take hold of the words themselves. Curse you and your ability to jump head first into these sorts of things. Once again, your curiosity was the only thing to blame for such insolent actions, but here you were, hands gently pushing apart fresh scroll and eyes glazing over the perfect writing of The Director.
If only you could read every paragraph.
Nod-Krai: entry 7
*'The "Palestar Edict," that highest of commands, has gone out. With it, the Fatui Harbingers have been summoned back to Snezhnaya and dispatched to Nod-Krai. The people stare and wonder: for what purpose does this army, bearing the banner of the Pale Star, come to their city? Or perhaps the question should be, ... "For whom?"'
'Those who follow the tides still sing and pray, for a new moon is set to rise from the ashes, and its ascent will spin the wheel of fate anew.'
'The armies of the Abyss sweep across the wilderness and canyons like a storm. These lost, soulless monsters appear to be silently searching for something.'
In the midst of it all, you found yourself lost in the scriptures written by the old Jester, never realizing that the writer himself was silently standing behind, watching with keen interest and wondering how a little bug like this managed to get into his private office.
