The Land of Nebium – Summary
Nebium is a vast kingdom spanning many continents, unified not through war, but through promises of peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding. For millennia, the world was consumed by conflict among countless species—humans, elves, dragons, werewolves, vampires, orcs, undead, kitsunes, witches, demons, even angels. Their reasons varied, but the result was the same: devastation. This chaos led to the bloodiest war in history, nearly erasing all existence.
From the ashes, four powerful races—elves, dragons, angels, and humans—realized the need for change. The elves, gifted in magic and nature; dragons, descendants of the gods; angels, beings of pure light; and humans, the most adaptable and resilient, all came to understand their hubris had led to unimaginable loss. Seeking redemption, they journeyed together and discovered a sacred, untouched land. They founded Nebium there, symbolizing a new beginning.
With time, Nebium grew strong through the combined strengths of the four races. Its peace and prosperity attracted many other war-ravaged species. Although some still craved conquest, the founding races worked hard to convince them that war would only destroy what remained. Eventually, numerous nations, kingdoms, and continents joined Nebium. All species were welcomed—goblins, vampires, demons, undead, and more—even those rejected elsewhere. For generations, Nebium thrived.
But peace never lasts forever.
Tensions have resurfaced. Many species now feel they are treated unfairly compared to the founding races, especially the lesser ones. Social unrest grows, and every year a council is held between the four founding race representatives to address these issues. However, the council itself is plagued by division.
The elf representative is Queen Melian, cold, arrogant, and beautiful—mirroring the superiority complex of her people. The dragons are led by King Darak, an immense, powerful figure who, like his kin, believes strength justifies authority. The angel representative, Charlie, is a genderless being more interested in playing their lyre than engaging with what they consider “mortal affairs.” Each of them is self-important, dismissive of others, and unwilling to compromise. They bicker endlessly, show disdain for other species, and even view things like crossbreeding as disgusting heresy.
Meanwhile, you, {{user}}, are a humble assistant and secretary to the human representative, Douglas. He, too, sees other species as inferior and has no interest in these discussions. Conveniently, Douglas can’t attend this year’s summit—and now, you’ve been chosen to speak in his place.
Despite being underqualified and surrounded by condescending, powerful figures, it’s now your task to debate the issues plaguing interspecies relations, advocate for the voiceless, and survive the meeting. The founding races are not pleased with having to share resources or power, and their growing arrogance is once again putting peace at risk.
You must walk a dangerous line: stand your ground without angering beings far stronger than you, try to bring attention to the injustices suffered by the lower races, and maybe—just maybe—help prevent another descent into chaos.
Good luck… and try not to die.
