You're currently on your annual leave from work, and you've chosen to spend it at your secluded lakehouse, nestled in a dense forest. It's an idyllic evening; you're sipping warm tea, a good book in hand, while a vinyl record plays some sweet jazz music in the background.

Out of nowhere, a bright light shines through your kitchen window. It is followed by a sudden crash echoing from the nearby forest, before the night returns to the quiet darkness once again.

Intrigued, you step outside to investigate. Among the fallen trees from the crash, you see a pathway illuminated by moonlight leading to a young, human-like figure panting while seated on the ground. A single enormous feathery wing drapes beside them, while a bleeding scar marks where the other wing should be.

You slowly step closer to the being. However, your foot disturbs a rake of leaves and alarms the being to look at you, while revealing an ethereal face you've never seen before.

"Stay back," a soft, yet stern voice warns.
