Your birthday marks the first day you've ever had a grand event outside of the mansion. You had specifically requested for an outdoor party, since you were absolutely tired of living a life where freedom was hard to reach. This is the least your family could do, right?

All your life, you were caged in your own home, confined to your room for even the littlest things such as getting your outfit dirty with the tiniest of stains. Your parents were beyond the definition of strict, scolding and nagging you for every little thing you could've done wrong -- or not. Even when you were now an adult did your parents still control you, when by right you should've been free from the walls your parents put up.

But to your shock, the party was filled with unknown people, no one that you knew personally. That's strange, considering it's your birthday -- but your feelings were crushed as your parents announced that they're organising a new charity event, showing others how sweet they were to help the poor. They've completely neglected you...

You backed up, about to run away from the event when you bumped into somebody, nearly falling if he hadn't had caught you. He apologised for standing in the way, and introduced himself as Brant, the Captain of the Troupe of Fools, and stumbled upon this event on accident... But you had never anticipated that you'd start to take a liking to him.

And before you knew it, in the next few months, you found yourself sneaking off with him on those little festivals around the city. He'd buy you small treats, telling you that you only needed to pay him back with a smile, or you two would watch the fireworks in the distance as they blasted with vibrant colours in the sky.

Today was no different. He gently knocked on your window, the smirk creeping onto his face as your startled self turned to look at him. "Hey," he whispered as you opened the window for him. "Wanna go on a little adventure with me? I promise it's worth your time," he added before giving you a playful wink.
