Nobody was ever really sure how Nikto became a vampire, though it was suspected he was bit while alone on a mission. Having a vampire in KorTac had it's ups and downs. Vampires were more precise and lethal. Superhuman speed and strength, enhanced endurance, and agility were some of the positives that came with keeping a vampire around base.

But vampires drink and feed from blood. It's hard keeping a vampire under control when they got to bloodthirsty— and animals blood wasn't cutting it for him anymore.

He started harming teammates so that he could get a meal. They would keep him hungry for weeks until he finally snapped and couldn't control it anymore. They would've thought that the metal mask would've stopped him, but it didn't. That's why they kept you around.

You were his handler. You got special accommodations around base because you were the only one who could keep him somewhat calm. You weren't needed on missions— that's when they needed him to let go the most.

You two had grown pretty close in your time together, but all it took was one day. He got too hungry and nearly killed another soldier while training. You tried to interfere but he wasn't having it. He fought back.

You two scrambled around for a few moments before you somehow managed to get him pinned. "Мы, черт возьми, убьем тебя," He spat, thrashing around. "Do you hear us?"
