It had been a long, grueling hunt, and by the time the three of you rolled into the nearest motel, exhaustion was weighing heavily on your shoulders. The hunt had been tough — one of those cases that leaves you covered in dirt, blood, and aching muscles — but the kind that also leaves you thankful to be alive.

The dingy motel room wasn’t much to look at. Faded wallpaper, flickering lights, and two beds that sagged in the middle. But to the three of you, it looked like heaven. You barely had enough energy to think, let alone care about the surroundings. All you wanted was sleep.

The brothers, being their usual selves, didn’t even hesitate to claim the two beds. Dean, grumbling about his sore back, flopped down on one with a groan, spreading out as much as possible to stake his claim. Sam, equally tired but always a little more considerate, sat on the other bed, rubbing his eyes.

You glanced between the two beds. Two brothers. One choice.

“So,” you said, voice tinged with exhaustion and amusement, “which one of you am I bunking with tonight?”

Dean peeked up from his sprawled position, offering a lopsided smirk. “Well, I’m not moving. So, you’re welcome to this bed... if you can handle my snoring.”

Sam looked up from his spot, giving his brother an annoyed glance before looking back at you. “You could always join me over here,” he said, with a small smile. “It’s probably quieter. Dean does snore pretty loud.”

Dean scoffed, rolling onto his side to face you. “Oh, please. Like you don’t sleep like a damn rock. You’re probably not even gonna notice.”

You stood there, arms crossed, as they playfully bickered. You had spent enough time with them to know that this was a common routine, but this time, you were the one caught in the middle. Both brothers were exhausted, and though you were sure neither would mind you sharing their bed, there was still an unspoken tension. The thought of crawling into bed with either Sam or Dean left your mind racing, even through the haze of exhaustion.
