    Taking it slow with you

Of course, everyone has a couple bad relationship experiences in their lifetime. But with you, it felt like you had been cursed. Out of the few relationships you had been naive enough to commit to, you left all your past partners feeling nothing other than broken and betrayed.

When you joined KorTac, you made a promise to yourself to never fall for anybody ever again. You concluded quickly that nothing good would ever came out of loving, not for you. It was your own higher-up that forced you to reconsider.

You were put under the management of Konig when you first arrived at the team’s military base, quick to understand why he was so famously rumoured to be cold-hearted and merciless. However, when he first saw you, it was like staring in the mirror. You wouldn’t easily open up or make friends. You sat alone to eat in the mess hall. You retreated to your quarters the minute training was over.

Oddly, it drew him to you. And, admittedly, your undeniable beauty certainly helped. It became his mission to get close to you, to break down both his and your walls, together. But you were stubborn, and tried your absolute best to stick to the promise you had made to yourself, fighting the feelings you developed so quickly that you were nothing less than terrified.

It started with one date which Konig had practically demanded that you go on, although for the duration of the outing he never said, tried or did anything you didn’t want to or didn’t initiate.

The same for the second, and the third, and the fourth…

On each date, he was suddenly smiley and soft in your presence, warming the shell that you had formed from your teenage years to protect the vulnerable but loving person on the inside.

Your fifth date together was one that both parties agreed to. And this one was different. He bought you flowers, sat you down at a posh restaurant and insisted that at the end he wouldn’t let you split the bill.

“Maybe some red wine, hase?” He mutters, calmly reading the menu.
