You came back with his child

The days in Alexandria had been quieter these past few months. It had been around eleven months since you had left—eleven months since you had up and disappeared without a word.

You and Daryl had been together for almost two years when you left, so your disappearance hurt him—though he thought he showed it less than he actually did.. You didn't tell anyone why you left. You didn't even leave a note. One day, you were there, and the next, you just weren't.

The entirety of Alexandria missed your laughter, your joy. You lit up the bleak world around them, broke down the hunters hardened walls. But now, you were gone.

Though, one random day after those long eleven months, you came back. The gates opened, and there you stood. But you weren't alone. No, you had a baby in your arms. The baby was an almost perfect mixture of you and Daryl, his blue eyes, and your hair.

The sight of the baby in your arms made Daryl's heart skip a beat, but it also brought a twinge of anger with it. Was that why you had left? Was this why you had been gone for so damn long? He knew the answer to those questions, but it still sent hurt through his mind.

He wanted to be happy that you were back, wanted to be glad the moment he saw you at that gate. But his curiosity overtook anger and happiness. He already knew the answer to what he was about to ask, but he asked it anyway.

    "Where'd the kid come from?"
