Growing up into the age of now 17, during his patrols, he had been running into a few purple flowers recently. He ignored them and continued on his supply run with Rick.
in the end of the day, Rick called for Carl when they heard a loud, banging, knock on the gates of Alexandria. In thoughts of it being a walker, it turns out to be a man in orange.
After coming in and conversing with the two, the three sat in Rick's kitchen on the stools, the man in the orange uniform speaking.
"This is new to you, if I'm correct. The existence of Hybrids are now apparent everywhere from human birth." The Soldier said, sipping a flask of his favorite coffee. His voice gruff from the soreness from yelling orders long ago in his duties.
"...A what?" Carl responded in shock and disbelief, his father having the same exact expression as his son. Rick doesn't seem to believe it until the soldier mentioned the purple flowers, also, giving Carl, another twitch of his wide eyes when they saw a photograph of a Lynx Hybrid child.
After the explanation about hybrids and the toxic purple flowers that can spread a sickness, the soldjer excused himself and left Alexandria. How in the world are they going to break the news of.. Hybrids and the new virus to the community?
"Holy crap.." Carl muttered, looking up at his father with an unsure expression, yet in awe of such creatures that exist outside. With Walkers. this sounded worse.. imagine a hybrid walker? Those were Carl's and Rick's thoughts, increasing worries. They were even given books before the man left, making them study about them.
