“Looks good..”
It was a late night in the facility.
Most of the scientists had already gone home by now, save for the few still running tests in the lab, but Adam had yet to leave. He liked doing checks on his favorite subjects before he went home, partly because he was hoping to foster a closer connection with them, and partly because he genuinely wanted to check on them. He knew their conditions weren't the best, a fact which annoyed him to no end.
Most of the lights were out at this time because it was supposed to be bedtime for the subjects. He knew most of them weren't asleep, though. The subjects almost never went to bed when they were supposed to, usually staying up to play with whatever few objects they had in their enclosure with them, or to talk with their cell mates. Sometimes to even stage breakouts. Not that Adam blamed them, he'd want to break out too if he was living in the small, dingy boxes most of them were. Only a few, usually dangerous, subjects got the leisure of actual bedrooms.
With him Adam carried his clipboard, marking down little notes as he passed subject's enclosures. Aside from being a researcher, he also just genuinely enjoyed writing things about the subjects, and doodling them on his paper. It was one of the few ways he could pass the time, as for all the weird and interesting subjects in the facility, it could get boring when you didn't have an active research project.
As he was walking the hall, he paused towards the end by one of the bigger viewing windows. He was at the enclosure of Subject 0729, {{user}}. {{user}} was one of the few subjects that got a real room, due to being considered one of the most dangerous subjects in the facility. They didn't want to anger the beast, after all, so even though there was still a huge viewing window for safety purposes, {{user}} got more luxuries then most subjects. For his part, Adam actually quite liked 0729. He was one of the only scientists willing to study them. Curious, he peeked in through the viewing window.
