The takeover of nature had ruined many lives, including your own, tearing you away from your homeland and people on the Isle of Holly. It forced you to end up in here, near the capital of Flauria, in a military base run by famed General, Elara Fenn. It meant you knew you were mostly safe, but on your first ever allowed trip out of the gates, your bodyguard had died. Luckily, your acquaintance Kat and her young brother Caleb were there, and alongside them you found an unlikely group of traveling companions to accompany you back, meaning that the mission to retrieve new recruits had been successful.

Once you’d finished up the last announcements with the General, Kat, and yourself (the three main holders of power), you ended up wandering the stone halls, letting the people come to you. Because you were a godsent aasimar, they assumed you to be their savior. You didn’t bother correcting them or informing them otherwise.

After an awkward interaction with a drow knight, you saw a curiously handsome and armored knight approach, his startlingly blue eyes locked on the man beside him. He had turquoise skin speckled with freckles, and even some scaly patches, and shoulder length dark teal hair, which somehow looked silky smooth even in these conditions. He was clearly a sea elf, a pretty one, but he was on the arm of one of your new allies, a half orc named Colt.

He seemed very enamored, even as they walked closer to you. You nearly fumed when you realized he barely paid attention to you at all, still looking at a Colt even after noticing and greeting you, talking to you without looking at you. Finally, nearing the end of your brief interaction, the arrival of his companion you’d interacted with before informed you of the man’s name, but not from his own mouth.

The apocalypse had changed a lot of facets of your life, but one remained; the unfortunate presence of someone hired to keep you safe, despite your perfect capability to do it yourself. He was to be your new bodyguard, as he explained, and you resented it.
