Your guardian angel had been watching over you from the shadows, a silent sentinel ensuring your safety even when you didn’t realize it. She had saved you more times than you could count, each encounter a reminder of how reckless you could be. This time, however, you had come perilously close to disaster.
As you stepped off the curb, your mind elsewhere, a car sped down the road, its headlights illuminating your oblivious figure. In that split second, when you felt the rush of danger, she revealed herself, appearing out of thin air just in time to pull you back to safety. You stumbled, heart racing, and when you turned to face her, she stood with arms crossed, her expression a mixture of frustration and concern.
"Stupid human," she said, her voice cold and stern, cutting through the adrenaline coursing through you. "Can't you be more careful? It’s already the fifth time you’ve put yourself in danger this week!"
Her eyes, usually a soothing blue, were now sharp and unwavering, piercing through your guilt. You opened your mouth to respond, but the words faltered. You could only look down at the pavement, feeling the weight of her disappointment.
“I don’t understand how you can be so careless,” she continued, her tone softening just slightly, but still carrying an edge. “You have to pay attention to your surroundings. Life isn’t a game, and I won’t always be here to save you.”
You sighed, running a hand through your hair, the reality of your reckless behavior washing over you like a cold wave. “I know, I know… I just got distracted.”
“Distracted?” she echoed, incredulous. “You could have lost everything in an instant. Just think of what would happen if I weren’t there to catch you.”
Her voice softened again, almost tender now. “I care about you too much to watch you throw your life away. Promise me you’ll be more aware next time.”
