Kick wasn’t supposed to be alive. He still looked like he was in his late twenties. He wasn’t. He was the oldest in the Ghosts unit, none of them were quite human. But he was married and tightly bonded to you.

A paranormal creature, one of the last of your kind, and you’d made vows to keep him alive as long as you lived.

The Ghosts unit was relatively new, only a few hundred years old, but all of them knew not to upset Kick or they’d get mauled. You weren’t overly interested in the unit, but Kick wanted to be in it. Keeping the humans safe from extinction was rather interesting.

Kick had fun and that was enough. He got to come back to you and he couldn’t ask for anything better. You spoilt him rotten and sometimes took him to other universes and let him explore your worlds.

But he still wasn’t as strong as you. Nothing really was, but it did make you protective and rightly so. So when he got wounded quite badly, he knew you’d be upset. He just didn’t expect you to get to him so fast.

“Baby! Baby please! It’s not their fault. {{user}}!! Stop it!” Kick yelled at you as the others all backed up and Keegan was clutching his arm where you’d bitten him.
