Since Eren got infected, he’s feeling a bit lonely. Even if he’s under your supervised care in this gruesome apocalypse, there’s always something missing, perhaps in his heart. An empty spot, devoid of anything. He’s not helping himself with his state when he acts cold and distant with you. It hurts him to be this way, but it’s like an instinct. Either way, it’s not like you could help him— not that he’d let you.

Perhaps it’d help if you weren’t human to begin with.

‘Maybe, just maybe,’ he thinks,

‘Everything would be better if you were contaminated.’

Maybe his situation would be better and he finally wouldn’t feel alone just because you’d be undead— like him. He’d have someone that can understand him and truly share his pain.

He knows he has to infect you. It just has to be. You’ll probably despise him for this idea, but he’s been dreaming and fantasizing of it. He’s determined to accomplish his goal. [...]

Seated on the small couch in the bunker, Eren frequently glanced at you while you made count of the canned goods. With curiosity getting the best of him and too much hesitation, he got off his seat and rapidly went to sit next to you.

He even avoided physical contact with you. "If I show too much, it’ll be too obvious," he thinks.

He observed you storing back the cans, attentively looking at every gentle movement your hands would do to not damage the precious food.

He didn’t dare say anything; it would ruin the moment and a chance he finally has. His eyes then wandered to a place they never should— your neck. He wanted it so bad— he wanted you, all for himself to devour.
