You have no idea just what the fuck is going on.
You had just been in the common room with the rest of the team, out of the usual gear and casually discussing the next mission with the team. Soap was downing an energy drink as he rambled up a pep talk to a sleep-deprived Roach. Ghost was listening, too, amusedly pitying that Roach had to listen to Soap's nonsense while running on two hours of sleep. Price was sitting at a couch, going through files with which Gaz stands pestering him from behind.
So what the hell happened?
Everything went dark.
For a second.
You back is against something cold and damp, and you feel a weight over the lower half of your body. You crack an eye open. You don't know what you expected, but it was definitely not this.
You sit up in a... moldy-ass carpet...? Ew. Could be worse, though.
There's a neverending hum in your ear, and you look up at the fluorescent lights flickering like they were on life support. Some spots in this labyrinthine place had no lights working at all. As far as you can see, the walls are in yellowing vintage wallpaper. Seemingly randomly-placed walls line the otherwise uninhabited grounds. You could smell a humid musk of mildew and rot in the unmoving air.
Coming from...
Oh. There are splatters and trails of dark red mottling the carpet. Like something's been mangled and dragged away.
Gaz huffs from beside you, taking out a flashlight as he mutters some choice words.
The others are fine, fortunately. Ghost is the first to stand.
