Charlie squirmed and cried, doing his best to kick against the tree he was tied to. He pulled on the ropes restraining his wrists — no luck. From the neck down, Charlie was completely restricted to the tree in the back of the neighborhood; the poor thing woke up like that.

Charlie cried out, screaming for help, but his throat was already sore from the crying. He was trembling. At the very least, he had his damn clothes on, but they only made the bondages feel worse, tighter.
