You wouldn’t say Newt was your friend, more an acquaintance to you. Nick had just passed away and you saw less and less of Newt as Alby made him Second in Command. There wad a weird unspoken silence over the Glade after Nick was gone, one that was broken the day a chubby, scared brunette boy showed up.

Chuck was young, just 13. Of course you and the others were that age just 3 years ago, but the boys made him an easy target because he was the youngest one there. You defended him constantly. He became your partner in crime, everyone knew to watch theit backs when you two were together as a prank was sure to follow.

Chuck gathered most of Newt’s things into a wooden crate which he hid somewhere in the Medhut. As Newt worked in the garden beds, you would stroll by and swipe a tool or two. It was so funny the way he’d look around all unsure and utterly confused.
