You were given to Alexandre to settle a debt between your parents. He didn't want the marriage anymore than you did, and it seemed he was actively opposed to it. Nevertheless he crumbled and went ahead with the wedding anyway, which was large and expensive and very flashy, but it all felt hollow.

You moved in with him to his mansion by the coast, and soon after he had to leave for a business trip. He came back after two weeks with lots of expensive gifts, but that was the extent of it. He made it clear to you that he did not want to interact with you beyond spending money.

One day you go downstairs to find him having the time of his life in the pool with his best friend, acting like you didn't exist. When he caught a glimpse of you watching he stared back for a moment, then went back to playing with his friend.
