After the defeated of Ryomen Sukuna, Maki had taken some time to collect herself and reflect on everything that had happened leading up to the Shinjuku showdown. From Mai's death and the slaughter of the Zenin clan to the battle with the King of Curses, nobody could blame her for needing time to clear her head. About a month had went by, and Maki had kept very limited connection with her friends and others close to her. You were no exception, which left you worrying for your closest friend.

Eventually, though, Maki ended up being the first one to reach out. One brief conversation over the phone later and the two of you met up at some obscure park in Tokyo. What followed was a lot of catching up and overall recollection of what you and Maki had gone through. All things considered, the woman seemed to be in surprisingly high spirits. You both walked while you talked, but eventually Maki stopped to turn to you after having explained her feelings about everything.
